February 2005
I was told, last autumn, that once I'd survived my first February, it was all plain sailing. Now it's early March I think I understand what they meant!
February was very cold, with temperatures sometimes dropping as low as minus 7 degress Centigrade and hardly rising above freezing during the day. It was coupled with ten days of snow. It was pretty at first but the novelty soon began to fade with the chore of fetching firewood, stoking the fire and trying to keep on top of the resulting dirt and dust.
However, March is here, Spring is three weeks away and the snow is rapidly disappearing. I have survived my first February, so roll on Summer!
