Flowers at the beginning of May

La Basse-Cour is comfortable, but is not yet fully finished. We still use it as our own holiday home, so it's full of our personal stuff. What this all means is that we're not yet able to let it out as a proper commercial holiday home.

On the other hand, we're more than happy to rent it to friends and people our friends have vouched for. The advantage for us is that we know you'll leave it as clean and tidy as you found it. The advantage for you is that it's a lot cheaper that a "proper" gîte".

If you are interested in staying at La Basse-Cour, please email us and let us know when you'd like to go. As a guide, we charge £20 per person per night during the season (Easter to mid-September and Christmas/New Year) and £15 the rest of the year.

If there are more than five people in your group or you'll be staying for more than five nights, then the prices are £15/£10 per person per night.

Small print:

Quilts, blankets and pillows are provided, but you need to bring your own quilt covers, sheets and pillow cases (they can be provided, by prior arrangement - if you're coming by motorbike, for example).

A deposit of 10 per cent is payable when you book. Ninety per cent of that is returnable if you cancel more than one month before the planned start date of your holiday. After that, I'm afraid we won't be able to return it, as it's unlikely we'll find a replacement booking.

Dogs are welcome by prior arrangement, so long as you clear up evidence of them being there! The courtyard is fairly secure for them when the gates are closed, so long as they're not too small and can find a way underneath. In the house, please don't let them go upstairs.
